The Smell of Other People's Houses
The smell of other people’s hoses is set in 1970’s Alaska and is a quadruple narrative about the lives four young teenagers dealing with problems plaguing young people today. It is a relatable story and very true to life showing the roller coaster ride of being a teen and the challenges it presents. Each of the four main characters has a common teen problem to deal with so this makes the book perfect for young people struggling with issues in their life. It is a fast pasted book, one that I no sooner started than I was two pages from finishing, one that took no effort to read that I could just see in my head and smile. It is a moving yet sweet story that tackles some big problems. I fell in love with characters and their words and thoughts and felt for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
