Bella, Woodroffe Book Surfers
Release was a beautifully written book and I was hooked throughout. The only thing was personally I didn't find Patrick Ness's sub-plot that engaging or relevant to the main plot. I felt emotionally involved with the characters and felt like I was on the same journey as many of them. The book tackled a problem going on at the moment, homophobia, especially among religion. And I admire how Adam, the main character, deals with this issue among his family and the way he stands up for what he believes in is truly inspirational. It related to many young men and women going through abuse due to their sexuality as well as having a pressurised home life. This book encourages people to stand by there beliefs and stay true to themselves. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I think Ness has produced some truly inspiring writing.
