The Stars at Oktober Bend
I was very confused by this book at first. Already, when it is Alice 'speaking', there are no capital letters and it is just weirdly written. You really have to think to know what she is talking about and at first the characters are all muddled up in your mind. For example, I didn't know who Bear was, especially because at first I was not even sure that he was a character because of the missing capital letters. It turns out he was a dog. It is also sometimes written in a mix of prose and poetry. But throughout the book everything starts to get clearer and clearer even though some things are still vague once the book finished. I got very attached to both characters, Alice and Manny, and really enjoyed reading it. It was brilliant. I recommend this book to absolutely everybody.
