Railhead by Philip Reeve was an enthralling adventure, taking place over many different worlds that were all diverse and bizarre in their own way. Railhead is set in further into the future where people travel via trains going through what is called a K-Gate that works like a wormhole. The young hero Zen, lives in a run down world and makes a living stealing objects to sell however he runs into trouble when a mysterious man enlists for his help, catching the attention of the government and even higher powers. The book seemed a little bit bland as not much happened but as I read through the story I began to like it more and more as the book explained the wonders of the universe in Railhead and I liked how it built up from a fairly basic job into meddling with the very ideas of how things work in the universe.
