Beck

Beck is an amazing book by Mal Peet, of adventure, bravery and family. As Beck struggles through life, he feels as if something is missing, he figures out what that is when an older couple take him in and adopt him as their own, family. When something goes horribly wrong Beck is given some money and is told to go to Vancouver, on the other side of the country. From being a young boy no older than the age of 10 to a young man, you really get to see Beck's character develop and grow, not necessarily becoming a stronger person physically but he becomes someone with more heart and soul than you could ever imagine.

I highly recommend this book for all teen readers above the recommended age because it is such a beautiful story with some extremely dark undertones.
