Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth is written by Frank Cottrell Boyce which follows a boy named Prez, who is currently being fostered. He is met by a family, with a "dog" named Mellows. The family see Mellows as a dog but Prez does not. Later on Mellows and Prez decide to rename Mellows "Sputnik" which is Russian for companion. Sputnik shockingly tells Prez that the world is about to be destroyed. They go on lots of adventures throughout the book.

In my opinion this is a great book for ages 9-16 year olds because of the amount of banter and humour within the book. The strange things that they do is also a valid reason why I rate this book a 9 out of 10.
