Railhead

Railhead by Philip Reeve was an enthralling book full of mysterious concepts and deep character arcs that I wanted to find out more about the further I got into the book. Railhead is set far into the future where people travel via trains that go through K-Gates which act like a wormhole and they play a much bigger part in the story than what it seems they do at the start of this tale. The main character, Zen is a thief that sells the objects he steals for money however when a mysterious man enlists for his help things begin to change and the government and even higher powers are interested in the affairs of the man and Zen. I think the story had quite a good intro that I didn't really like when I read it but after reading this book it makes sense why it started quite slow and uneventful. My favourite part was definitely the ending as it perfectly culminated the plot lines between different characters into one event. Overall I'd recommend this book to people who like sci-fi stories like star wars. I'd rate it 8/10.
