Sophie, Colyton Grammar School
The Hate U Give
By the end the main character doesn't get her way, but somehow it is still a good ending because she knows she will never give up. The characters are good and you want them to get their way and it is hard to put down. It made me think a lot.
The characters are written well and you begin to feel like you know them. They are realistic because of what they do and how she speaks differently in different situations like a real person would.
I understood the language and enjoyed how it was written. The characters speak at good times, the situations are written well and I could imagine everything.
I enjoyed this book and felt very involved. It was aimed at 11+ and I think a lot of people would enjoy this book. 8/10
