Maddy, Gordano School

Salt to the Sea

Of all the ones I have read so far (6, not including Railhead or The Smell of Other People's Houses) it has been the most enjoyable and well written book. Although at the start the four, very dissimilar narrators can cause confusion, yet the innocence and beauty of their young minds remained so true despite the shocking dilemmas they faced. It shows the trials of war, with a touch of brilliance that could give hope in the darkest of times.
