Catherine, Churchill Academy

Salt to the Sea

Usually, this isn't my favourite genre of book but I was pleasantly surprised by this story. It covered areas of history I didn't know much about but at the same time, it used characters you could sympathise with and engage with, despite the era of history. I was more interested with some of the characters stories than others which made it slightly harder to focus on certain perspectives of the story. This did get easier as the story progressed and the lives of the characters became linked. I recommend this book - even if you are not usually a fan of historical fiction - as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
