Beyond the Bright Sea

Beyond the bright sea by Lauren Wolk (also author of wolf hollow) was amazing. Crow was such an inspirational character, despite the odds she continues the search for her true identity even though everyone seems to hate her. I never knew that leprosy was a real disease, over 600 people are diagnosed every day, more than 50 children. there is a cure and is completely free, but some, if not most people can get to it.most people who show the signs are hated and shunned by even their own family. Crow is shunned for just having darker skin, and as the plot uncovers, for more dark but reasonable reasons. One character, Mrs Maggie, was always there for her, even with her no-nonsense attitude. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery books, or just a book that you can't put down. I read this book even though a friend said it was terrible, and was not disappointed.
