Niamh, St Helen and St Katharine
Beyond the Bright Sea
Beyond the Bright Sea was more like a maze than a book - full of twists and turns - I found myself lost in the story many times, caring for the young girl washed up on the island, as though she were a friend. I shared her passion and her longing to know her family and lived through her, and she obviously became my favourite character.
I also loved the symbolism of names in the book and how they changed and progressed through the story. I found the twist thrilling and thoroughly enjoyed trying (and failing) to work it out. The book was very readable and I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries.
