Leila, Sir John's Shadowers

Beyond the Bright Sea

I loved this book, it was interesting and had a good set of characters, who were believable and realistic. There was never a dull moment and the writer has kept the story suspenseful. The story is about a girl called Crow who has never questioned her past until she sees a fire on one of the islands. The main characters, Crow, Osh and Miss Maggie try to discover more about Crow's past and they eventually do. I think it was interesting how people treated Crow, despite not knowing for certain where she was from. The only thing I am disappointed about is that the ending was quite obvious. The book also shows a different view of life, on a tiny island without all the technology and vehicles that we have every single day.
