Salt to the Sea

This book was about 4 fleeing survivors of WW2, all of whom were of different nationalities. A Prussian, a German, a Lithuanian and a Pole all fight in the same battle, for the same purpose: they fight for their lives. This novel was highly addictive. When considering how fast I read it, this book was spectacular because every ounce of emotion described in the book sent me swirling into a tornado of feelings. I specifically like this book because of the sense of narrative. The fact that everybody had their own point of view was astounding. Because it was set mid war, you really did receive a sense of chaos and longing. In complete honesty, I do not understand how anybody could dislike this book; its sense of trauma and desire all wrapped up in an incredible book.
