Auronyo, King Edward VI Grammar School

Railhead is fascinating book that I think can be summed up in the words, space train. Not just that, but the author has managed to give perfect background and a story that just makes you wonder, what is life like there and what possibilities does the technology hold? When you are that immersed in a book it is difficult to say, for me at least, whether to pay attention to the plot or just watch as Zen, the main character shows all the technology of his world. However, when you do pay attention to the story, the way real issues are portrayed so casually but not in an offending manner is impressive, racism and LGBT stigma included, as nothing comes across in a way that shows a lack of careful thought and planning put into Philip Reeve's writing. This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who likes science fiction; the book’s view on travelling to different planets and their attitude to planets is good and unique enough to pick it up.
