Where the World Ends
Where the World Ends is a powerful, startling and beautifully fresh novel that drops you into the 1727 St. Kildan world of Quilliam. Though the bad times and the good, Quill and his friends are put through hardships and challenges. They say that those who go to the Warrior Stac (where the story is set) suffer even greater hardships, and this is certainly true of Quill and his friends; having spent nine months on a lump of bare, sea-washed rock with literally thousands of birds, when no one comes to pick them up from their annual fowling trip to the Warrior, certainly sharpens their survival skills, and it is remarkable they only get away with one death, one amputation and one slight case of madness, and left behind all because... well that would be spoiling things!
Although I would give Where the World Ends a sparkling review for wonderfully written, strong and emotive content, the world I was pushed into was not my favourite, and if you are not a fan of guts and gore, this book is most certainly not for you!
