Anna, Camden School for Girls
This was a gripping book about acceptance and judging people before really knowing them. The protagonist Annabelle was a caring, passionate girl, who has a very strong moral compass and sticks up for people even when everyone else is against them. In this book Annabelle befriends a mysterious man called Toby who rarely talks and carries two guns over his shoulder. Over time Annabelle becomes quite fond of Toby. Even though most of the village think he is odd and will jump at any chance to prosecute him, Annabelle sees past this and helps Toby when no one else will. When troublemaker Betty moves in terrible things start occurring and people start blaming Toby. This was probably my favorite book as it was thought provoking and had a strong moral, which was never judge a book by its cover.
