Alfie, The Cosmic Ravensbourne Readers

Salt to the Sea

I have been reading Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys and so far, I have really enjoyed it. I have always been interested in World War Two and the evacuees. This book is about German and Polish evacuees. They all have their own stories that join together at the end. Alfred is a German soldier who likes to make mental letters to one person called Hannelore. The others, called Amelia, Florian and Joana are all evacuees, fleeing Germany. This novel is a very enticing book that hooks the reader at the end of every chapter. I would definitely recommend this book to somebody else that is my age or older (12+).
