The Stars at Oktober Bend

This is the tale of a deeply damaged girl and an immigrant, with their 'love' playing the key role. During this novel, the suspense built impressively as I wanted to find out what happened to Alice. Although I found this a deeply dull book, there were some slightly exciting moments, however brief. Unfortunately, I hated the lack of capital letters and my pedanticism refused to accept the book or the plot. Due to this, it was impossible to read it as my eyes refused to focus on the words. I also hated the poetry inserts and found they slowed the pace, which was already at that of a snail. I would never read this book again as it seemed to annoy me more than it improved my mood. Whatever made me think that this book had potential was clearly misinformed.
