Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
Sputnick's Guide to life on Earth, by Frank Cottrell Boyce, is a rather funny but very simple book.
Sputnick's Guide to Life on Earth is about a young boy called Prez, who lives with his confused Grandad until, for some reason, he is put in a temporary children's home. Prez meets Sputnick, a 'dog' from outer space, who tells him that they need to save the word from shrinking.
I would definitely recommend this book to younger readers, and thought that it was very predictable and simple.
My favourite thing about this book is probably the 'Lightsaber scene' in which the author uses very entertaining language to portray a very comical scene.
I give this book 4/5 stars, as it could be very amusing at times but was also very predictable for older, more advanced readers.
