William, Lancaster Royal Grammar School

Where the World Ends

Every time a boy went to the St Kilda stacs, he came home less of a boy but more of a man. If was able to make it home. In the summer of 1727, a bunch of men and boys are put ashore on a sea stac, set off the isle of Scotland, to harvest birds for food. No one arrives collect them. Why? Surely nothing but the end of the world can explain why. After all they have been abandoned to endure storms, starvation and terror. How can they survive, housed in stone and imprisoned on every side by the roaring ocean? This book for me was a 5 out of 10 because I found it slow and quite confusing but the plot seemed very interesting and sophisticated.
