'Railhead' is really interesting and exciting but sometimes a bit confusing. I really enjoyed the story line. Overall, I really liked this one! Something different;the author has an amazing imagination.

The stunning descriptions at the start of the story were also a big reason as to why I kept reading. Philip Reeve managed to find just the right descriptive words that matched the mysterious, fantasy atmosphere of the story perfectly. So this is one of the reasons why I persevered with this novel.
'Railhead' was not the genre of book I normally go for. The fantasy was great at first but then it got quite emotionless. The love story between Zen and Nova seems very typical in all books, and this made the book fit in a little more with the majority of novels. This is a shame because although I didn't enjoy all of this book, the story line was very different to others.
Personally, this book is quite slow to get into. The author uses a lot of terms that are difficult to understand but if you read on, you may be able to get used to the techniques. I would definitely recommend this book to science fiction fans, hence, this book was not the best book for me.
