The Bone Sparrow

This book is such a discussion creator. It really makes you realize how lucky you are. It might not be a book for everyone but for me its one of my favourites as it's extremely relatable to modern society. People really are being put into immigration detention centres.
The plot:There's a boy called Subbhi who was born in the immigration camp and doesn't actually know anything about life outside those fences. Which actually doesn't quite seem possible but of course it is. Its a great story which raises huge questions. During life in the camp Subbhi must face a sick mother and a nasty guard however there are people there who make his life a bit better: a friendly guard called Harvey and a friend from outside called Jimmie. I recommend you read this book its the best book I've ever read and many people agree!
