The Bone Sparrow

I found 'The Bone Sparrow' enjoyable. It was interesting and certainly made me think about people like Subhi but I couldn't really properly get into it. The story basically is about a refugee boy named Subhi and a girl from the outside world called Jimmie. Subhi wants to know about the outside world and Jimmie wants to know about the Centre (the refugee camp where Subhi is). Their bonds grow throughout the book and the author really shows the hardships of growing up in a place like the Centre. 'The Bone Sparrow' certainly gave me a lot to think about but I don't think it was the book for me. I am not a big fan of stories written from a ten year old's perspective and prefer stories written from a teenager's point of view. I would recommend this book to a person who likes reading stories that actually happen today.
