Eleanor, Sir John's Shadowers

The Stars at Oktober Bend

The Stars at Oktober Bend was a haunting book that demonstrated just how isolated illness or origins can make a person feel. It was written in a perfectly unique way, opening the reader up to a whole new perspective. We all know about mental illnesses, but by seeing it from an afflicted persons point-of-view we, as the readers, find the capacity to reconsider what we think to be the truth. It didn't have too much of a complex plot, instead focusing on the small details we may not notice immediately. It was very much a book to be thought on and back to, specializing in the subtle. Whereas other books may try to lighten the subject, it is presented here in the cold light of day, leaving us feel sad, but not so cheated. This was a book that I very much recommend, although it does take a while to get into. So, if you can get past the purposeful lack of capital letters, I strongly suggest that it is shared around.
