Similar to most of Philip Reeve's books, Railhead is a futuristic, fast-paced story, set in a fantasy world or worlds I should say. Zen Starling, the main character, is set on a mission on a vast network of railways to steal a precious object from the famous Noon family and is eventually left with a big decision as to whose side he is on, and whether he should help the universe or not. There is a bit of romance added in throughout, but I didn't think the characters were particularly amazing, and didn't really engage with them as much as I would have liked. Overall, I thought this was an excellent sci-fi book however, but not quite as good as Mortal Engines, which is Philip's best book by far.
