Helen Muskett, Dyffryn Taf
The Bone Sparrow
I thought this was an excellent book. It was an interesting, riveting and informative read. It was well written with good promotion of: human rights; reading; story telling and mental health issues, without being too gruesome or disturbing for children. It also shows the deep compassion, understanding and commitment that human beings are capable of despite their flaws.
I loved all the analogies, the night sea, the Shakespeare duck and the parallel story line about Oto and Anka. I would love to see a sequel. It is definitely worthy of the winners medal!
