Beck is an emotional book which focuses on the struggle of African-Americans during the 19th-20th century. This book will take you on an emotional roller-coaster and make you just want to read on. I like it because it gives the impression a few times that life has settled and everything will just move forward steadily from there; but that's not how life works. There will always be a calm before the storm and there will always be storms. This book shows how race doesn't matter because the people who don't matter are the ones who seem to always have a problem with it.
