Mrs B, Bruton School for Girls

The Stars at Oktober Bend

When I saw the punctuation, I wasn't sure whether this book would annoy me. However, surprisingly quickly I managed to get over this - it is written this way to reflect the protagonist's 'broken wiring'. However, despite the protagonists problems what unfolds is a character who is so beautiful and talented in so many ways. The ending reminded me of 'Mill on the Floss'.
