Beyond the Bright Sea

Beyond the Bright Sea did not appeal to me. It did not engage me at all. However, it did have some good descriptive language in it.

It's the story of a girl named Crow, who washed up on an island, on a midsummer night, when she was a baby just hours old. She is called Crow because when Osh found her she was "hoarse with crying..." One night, Crow spots something on the distance. She starts to wonder who she is and where she came from. She sets out on a journey, to discover who she really is. Will she succeed...?

I did not like this book. In my opinion, it didn't have a good plot and felt quite predictable. I would recommend this book to those who like an adventure story. But I would not read it again.

In conclusion, this book was not for me. Others may like it and should give it ago. I would rate this book two stars. **
