Salt to the Sea
The author of a New York Times Bestseller book 'Between Shades of Gray', Ruta Sepetys, brings us yet another World War 2 tragedy, this time in the sea. 'Salt to the Sea' talks about four teenagers from different nations and cultures who have to experience the worst maritime disaster in the history. The story is told through these teenagers' perspective, each making us know what they had to suffer and loss in the war. However, in the mist of battle, there are love, cooperation and hopes among these four.
Ruta Sepetys had brought up another untold story that could shock the world. The German ship "Wilhelm Gustloff" was on its last journey carrying more than 10,000 passengers and crews before the Russian submarine S-13 torpedoed her, bringing her down with more than 9,000 people. The tragedy was never really taught or heard by anyone except the ones who suffered from it. "Salt to the Sea" became a tragic story full of horror, action and romance. This magnificent book must be read or the story can vanish together with the victims.
"Salt to the Sea" will bring you tears of disbelief and thrills.
