The Smell of Other People's Houses
I have been reading 'The Smell Of Other People's Houses' by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock. the main characters are Ruth, Dora , Alyce and Hank. They are four different people whose lives all intertwine in the end. Ruth wants to be remembered, Dora wishes she was invisible, Alyce can't bring her self to leave and Hank is running away. The book is set in the north of Alaska 1970. I think this is an effective choice because it is somewhere different. The first chapter does grip you because it is very unusual and definitely a page turner. Although this book is confusing because of the alternation of the four families, it was still a great read.
