The Stars at Oktober Bend

I found The Stars at Oktober Bend quite hard to get into as I felt that nothing significant or full of suspense was happening. I didn't find this book as captivating as others that I had read. Therefore I wasn't looking forward to reading the book as I had been with others.

This book is based on a girl named Alice who is struggling as she has a brain injury due to an assault. She is fifteen yet her words come out slurred. Manny was a child soldier, he is 16 years old and has lost his family. Manny and Alice find love with each other.

The book did't engage me and I didn't have an urge to carry on reading. I also struggled with the lack of punctuation as it wasn't as clear to read. However I quite liked the characters Manny and Alice because they were believable and clearly described.

Overall, I didn't like the book and didn't find it very exiting or interesting. Therefore, I would give this book 4/10.
