Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

This is science fiction for all ages. It's a book to relax to. To lie down on a sofa and lose track of time with.
The central character is Prez who goes to stay with a family because they have taken his grandfather away. Prez doesn't know where his granddad is. His goal is to be reunited with him.
With his temporary family, he meets Sputnik. Whilst the rest of the family see Sputnik as a highly-intelligent dog, to Prez he appears as an alien. The author narrates a friendship that stays together until the end of the book.
I loved this novel. It was an engaging read. The humour was another thing about the book that drew me in.
