Charley C, RIDGEWOOD SCHOOL

Wolf Hollow

This book is about a young girl named Anabelle and her family, who are desperately trying to overcome the tragedies placed before them. Bullying and threats. But it all kicks off when Betty the bully goes missing. Despite the high praise this book has received, I personally was not at all intrigued by any aspect of this tale. Firstly, I found this book tedious because it was highly predictable. While many would say it was a traditional tale, I could not find any majorly dramatic twists, the ones included were standard for any story- in my opinion. Secondly, I found this book rather boring because the emotions were not broadcasted, not given to the reader as if they were their own. This is a key factor that should be included in any book, at least from my perspective. Effectively, and finally, this led to the book having very little character. In summary, I would not recommend this book as it was tedious, boring and had an alarming lack of character in comparison to the other Carnegie books I have read.
