Salt to the Sea

Salt to the sea is an enjoyable yet brutally truthful book, that puts on display the ruthlessness and terror of war.
The book follows the lives of three refugees, each of different origins, but all with the same goal; getting to the boat that will carry them to safety. The book also follows the life of a German sailor who is on the ship that the others so desperately need. As the story progresses the character's lives intertwine and they develop strong bonds, needed against the danger they are in...
This book is captivating and enticing, making the you want to read on. Every page is a new turn, a new adventure. I love this book, because it has a mix of emotions and themes; sadness, happiness, relief, romance. A beautiful read!
