Wolf Hollow

During this book I feel like I never connected to any of the characters. I didn't really enjoy this book because: the first line never met up to the expectation,'the year I became twelve I learnt how to lie'; there was no relevance to the Second World War and I felt Lauren Wolk only added some relevance to the war three times at the most. The storyline was fantastic, but I felt it needed more seriousness to the storyline like when Annabelle got hit by a branch, that Betty hit her with, she said it was like a shape of a cucumber which made it sound very funny which I thought it needed to be serious in all fairness. But this is my opinion, so I wouldn't ever be put off reading something if someone says they disliked story.
