I really enjoyed reading this book. I got absorbed quickly in the story and found it easy and quick to read. It follows a day in the life of Adam, a gay teenager living with very conservative Christian parents in America.
I thought it was really well structured with each chapter being an item on his to do list for the day, interspersed with a fantasy element that linked to the story. The fantasy story was lyrical and mysterious and contrasted to the modern, urban language used by Adam and I thought the difference showed what a talented writer Patrick Ness is.
I loved the character of Angela, his best friend, and thought all the characters were well rounded and believable. I would highly recommend this book.
