Maria, Petts Wood Fully Booked
I have to say that this is one of the saddest books I have ever read. Not just because of the devastating deaths of Toby and Betty, but also because of the lack of listening, which caused further mistakes. Aunt Lily was so caught up with believing that Toby was a bad person, that she would constantly block out any information that proved he was not guilty. After Toby's death, she must have felt bad but it was too late.
Annabelle was a great role-model, not giving up until she got what was needed. Even she, though, made mistakes, showing that not everything is going to go her way.
This has to be one of my favourite books because of the way people changed throughout the story. Toby proved to be fierce, even though he later gave up. Aunt Lily proved to be wrong and later admitted it. Annabelle proved to be persistent, and later she got what she wanted. Betty proved to be quite a mean and strong girl and later was shown to be weak. The development of each and every character shone throughout the story, making the urge to continue reading, greater.
