Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
Sputnik’s Guide to Life on Earth is a humorous fast paced book for children aged 8-11 (I am 13 so it is not my choice of book but I have read worse!). It is about a boy named Prez (about age 11) who goes to live with a farm family for the summer. They are really nice to him, but truly he just wants to go see his grandad again. Prez used to live with his grandad and has many happy memories of their time together however his grandad started forgetting things. This meant that Prez had to move out and go to the Temporary. He then gets to go with this family and things are OK until Sputnik turns up. Prez can see Sputnik as a slightly odd boy wearing a kilt and goggles, but the rest of the family can see him as a dog. Prez has a special way of communicating with him and together they go on adventures- from these adventures they come up with a list. The list is a guide to save Earth!
