Rona, St Ninian's High School

The Bone Sparrow

It was the name that encouraged me to read this book because I wanted to know the reason for the name. Zana Fraillon wrote this book in a very emotional way and you feel as if you know exactly what it is like in the immigration detention centre. This was a very good book. You really feel for the two main characters: Subhi who has lived his whole life in the immigration detention centre and Jimmie, who lives on the other side of the fence. I would recommend this book to those about 12 or over.
