The Stars at Oktober Bend

I really enjoyed this book, I felt so connected to the characters Alice and Manny. This book is about a girl could Alice Nightingale who is fifteen but looks twelve because of an accident that happened. She has hair as red as fire and skin as pale as bone, who expresses herself through poetry as she can not speak properly. One night while on the roof of her river house she sees Manny run through the train station but does not recognize him . Manny James is a boy trying to escape his memories. When his is running one night he sees Alice on the roof of her river house, looking like a figurehead on a sailing ship through the stars. When he runs through the train station he finds one of Alice's poems on a pansy packet which is pinned to a coca cola sign and with the poem in his pocket, he knows the words off by heart. He is sure that girl has written them.
