Salt to the Sea

I like the book because it is very interesting how there is such mystery in the plot. I enjoyed reading it because it is really shocking so you want to find out what happens next. I was interested in the story but I think that some of it is a bit heavy. I cared about the little boy because he must be really lonely without his mum. I also feel sorry for the dead women, including his mum, because they were frozen alive. They had shocked faces, frozen in motion. I would recommend this book to people who are older and like a bit of gruesome things. I would also recommend this book for someone that likes to feel sad when they read a book. I get a feel for mystery and depression as well as a bit of horror in a way. It feels like it is in the middle of a war and they are evacuee children. I think that there are lots of changes of perspective when narrating as the person changes each chapter. There are not descriptions of any of the people apart from the dead lady they find in the snow. There is not much dialogue but there doesn't need to be as much because there are other people's perspectives. I don't know if the people are interesting or not because I haven't found out much about the characters yet.
