The Stars at Oktober Bend

This books has a really interesting narrative, with two different people telling the story. One of the narrators, Alice, has a brain injury and is unable to communicate as well as she used to. This is cleverly reflected in the style the chapters spoken by her takes, with jerky sentences, missing punctuation and no/hardly any capital letters. It is a tragic tale which has an unexpectedly hopeful ending. Once I'd adjusted to the writing style, I enjoyed this book a lot.
