I have mixed feelings about this book. Phillip Reeve has managed to create beautiful settings and brilliant characters, and the casual diversity is unrivalled by any other Carnegie book. However, I feel like the plot was rushed and characters lacked a lot of emotional development. It was hard to connect to anyone, except Flex. While this book was enjoyable overall, the climax was (ironically) anticlimactic. It's full of cliches, but I feel like appearance descriptions make up for it.
