The Smell of Other People's Houses
The Smell of Other People's Houses is an excellent book set in Faribanks in Alaska. One of its best aspects is the way it shows how many different people view situations in different ways. It explores how traumatic events effect the lives of children and how they react when faced with problems like alcohol and teenage pregnancy. It also focuses heavily on family and how different people try to protect them. These interesting topics, paired with the author's writing style, which expertly helps you understand every characters emotions make this absolutely fantastic.
