Where the World Ends
I was jolted out of a dull read three chapters into Where the World Ends. As the author hooked me with a surprise from each chapter on. The book proved difficult to put down.
At first, I couldn't visualize the characters. But by the time I finished, I thought I knew them inside out. It was like I'd actually met them in person.
If you didn't know this was based on a true story, you could have guessed as the writing is rooted in realism. Geraldine McRaughrean doesn't judge. Therefore, there are no 100% good or pure bad characters but always a mix of the two extremes.
