Salt to the Sea

'Salt to the Sea' is a well written book yet, at the beginning can come across as quite a difficult read. It gradually gets easier to follow and understand. 'Salt to the Sea' is about four people; Joana, Florian, Emilia and Alfred. These four people all come from different places and you follow their stories until they come together.

I like how at the start each character starts with a different quote. "Guilt is a hunter", "Fate is a hunter", "Shame is a hunter" and, "Fear is a hunter" this shows what each person is going through and how they feel before you even get to know the characters.

I do not have a favorite character because, you get to know all the main ones very well so, you do not prefer one over the others. I like that they are all very different yet, have the one similarity that there all struggling and have a secret.

Overall I think this book is very clever and amazingly written as there is good tension that keeps you hooked mainly all the time but, it can be confusing at times and you can easily get the stories mixed together in your brain. I give this book 4 stars out of 5.
