Mr Tennant, Book Chasers

Salt to the Sea

Salt to the Sea paints a vivid picture of desperate lives at the end of WWII. Seeing the world through a series of characters, whilst time continues to move on, is a superb way of conveying a story. The book concludes with a gripping series of events surrounded in tragedy but also hope. How people were able to move on with their lives after such horrors during WWII is a testament to their strength and determination. This book opened my eyes to a horrific historical tragedy in WWII that I just had to research into more upon finishing the story. It has given me a wonderful taste for historical based fiction in the future!
