Charlie, CSI Peterborough (Carnegie Shadowing Investigators)

An amazing, imaginative book which stands apart in the sci-fi or futuristic genre, as you come to realise that there isn't really any oppression, and that the things the Guardians do are genuinely - to them - a way of protecting humanity. Reading this was easy, and it rather quickly becomes engaging and exciting, with a imaginative plot, characters and world they live in. Railhead also changes the role of the 'hero' of the book, with his actions sometimes harming those around him to achieve his goal. One thing I did not like, however, is the inclusion of a glossary at the back. While this allows for a quick introduction and gets the story going, constantly having to turn to the back to find out what something means can take away from the experience of reading it.
